Capt. Dailey. I believe this photo was taken near the beginning of his military career. He enlisted in 1942 and completed his pilot's training on January 14, 1943. |

John did a tour of duty in the South Pacific during World War II. It was during this time that he met Florence. He was a captain in the Air Force Reserves during the Korean War, and his duties took him to the Pamama Canal Zone and Puerto Rico, as well as campaigns in New Guinea, the Central Pacific, Bismark Archipalago, North Solomon Islands, the West Pacific, Southern Phillipines, and Luzon. In all, he flew 131 combat missions. This photo is not dated, but I believe it to have been taken during World War II. |

Here are a couple more pictures of John. Not sure who his horse friend is or where it was taken. In the second photo, he is more than likely sitting in the cockpit of a C-47 Stratofreighter. Most of his military flying was done in that model of aircraft. |
